Worship

"Worship is at the very heart of the church's life. All that the church is and does is rooted in its worship. The community of faith, gathered in response to God's call, is formed in its worship. Worship is the principal influence that shapes our faith, and is the most visible way we express the faith." - The Book of Common Worship

Sunday mornings at Hudson are important:  Worship is where we re-focus our lives on God in Jesus Christ. Through praise, confession, listening to the stories of our faith and responding to these stories with our gifts, we prepare for the week ahead of us. In worship we remember who we are and to whom we belong.  Both services are inter-generational:  Young and old: children, youth and adults.  We celebrate the diversity of the body of Christ and know we are a better picture of the Christian body when that diversity worships together!

Below are the worship times and brief descriptions of each service:

Sunday Morning Schedule
9:00 am - Morning Glory Contemporary Worship
10:00 am - Christian Education for All Ages
11:05 am - Traditional Worship

Morning Glory Worship

In this worship service  the music is led by the church's Worship Team (guitar, keyboard, drums and harmonized singing).  We use a screen in the sanctuary for images, liturgy and words to songs.  Many people who attend this service like the early time and its more informal style.  It usually finishes around 9:50 a.m. to  allow time for children, youth and adults to get to various church school and educational opportunities.

Traditional Worship

The 11:05 service is led musically by the churches Chancel Choir on most Sundays.  We sing out of a hymnal and often there is special music from the children's choir, youth ensemble, handbell choir or individual musicians. The service incorporates responsive readings, affirmations, along with other liturgical movements that you would find in many Presbyterian Churches across the country.

Both services have a children's messages and sermon that is relevant to the scripture read that day and applicable to the lives we led the rest of the week.  Worship at Hudson will renew your spirit and help you find balance in your life.
